Replacement of the list of 23 steroids with a list of 59 steroids, including both intrinsically active steroids as well as steroid metabolic precursorsand metabolites, such as dihydrotestosterone, glucuronidated testosterone, androstenedione, androstenedione dihydrostenedione and dihydrotestosterone, androstenedione androstenedione metabolites, androstenedione androstenedione dihydrotestosterone, androstenedione dihydrotestosterone and dihydrotestosterone metabolites or combinations of these steroid metabolites; and(iii) The substitution of the list described in paragraph (b)(3)(ii) with a list of 57 hormones such as epinephrine and norepinephrine, insulin and glucagon, serotonin and noradrenaline, melatonin and thyroid hormones, growth hormone, luteinizing hormone, cortisol and thyroid hormone, insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-II, recombinant androgens and corticosteroids such as dexamethasone and prednisone, vasopressin and prolactin, human chorionic gonadotropin, recombinant androgen receptors, insulin and insulin-like growth factor 1, and hormone precursors and analogs; and(2) The substitution of the list described in paragraph (b)(3)(iv) for the list described in paragraph (b)(3)(i) (but see paragraph (b)(3)(i)(C ) below, which provides for the removal of steroids as described in paragraph (b)(3)(ii) if the Secretary determines, by regulation, that the list has inadequate quality information on which to base any determination of a medical necessity for such the list to continue in operation).(b) List specified.—A list of the approved and approved replacement steroids provided pursuant to subparagraph (A) is a list of—(1) Substitutions for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents used in the preparation of injectable steroid products, including those for which there are no approved and approved replacement drugs; and(2) Substitutions for substances described in subsection (a) that are—(A) derived from a substance that is approved for use only in other circumstances; and(B) used in the preparation of products in which such approval is lacking.(c) Determination.—(1) IN GENERAL.--As soon as practicable after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall—(A) determine which substances described in paragraphs (1) and (2) will be included on eachRelated Article:
